This 5-ingredient vegan raspberry avocado smoothie with lime is light, creamy and super refreshing. The smoothie contains lime pulp rather than just the juice and is sweetened with a little maple syrup. Perfect for breakfast or as a snack anytime.

This raspberry avocado smoothie is a delicious and easy way to add more vegetables into your diet. The smoothie is moderately sweet and super zesty and no one will know it contains a hidden vegetable!
If you read my post from a few days ago you will know that wonky avocados have recently flooded the supermarkets in the UK. As a result, I have several wonky avocados ripening on my windowsill in the kitchen. I've been doing my best not to let them go to waste and today I am sharing my new avocado recipe.
Creamy avocado smoothie recipe ingredients
Avocado is an ideal smoothie ingredient, as it provides extra nutrients, is a great natural thickener and produces a silky smooth texture. And you can't taste it at all in this avocado berry smoothie recipe!
The smoothie is fruity and zingy thanks to the combination of raspberries and lime. I used not just the juice of a lime but also the pulp so you can really taste this delicious fruit! To peel the lime start by trimming both the top and bottom of the fruit. Place it on one end and slice the skin (along with the pith) downwards all the way around (see the photo below). Then simply throw the peeled lime into the blender along with the other ingredients and make the smoothie!
Lime makes a great pairing with both avocado as well as raspberries. I've used all 3 in my raspberry avocado muffins recipe (see also my key lime cheesecake pie with avocado).
How to make avocado raspberry smoothie
This avocado berry smoothie takes seconds to make. You can add a little less maple syrup to start with and add more, if needed, once you've pureed the ingredients.
1. Place the ingredients in the blender and puree until silky smooth.
2. Enjoy chilled.
Top tips
This raspberry smoothie makes a delicious easy breakfast idea as well as a refreshing, healthy snack.
- Raspberries: Use either fresh or frozen. You can also add blackberries into the mixture if you like.
- I used coconut water but almond or hazelnut milk would work too.
- Sugar: I added a bit of maple syrup into the smoothie but you can use another sweetener, such as agave or rice syrup and honey (for a vegetarian option).
- Storing: Store in a jar/bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Shake before use.
